Vascular Sonographer

Job Overview

This role is for a Vascular Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams in a clinical setting. You'll work directly with patients and physicians, using your expertise to capture clear images that guide critical care decisions. The position is based in Winston Salem, NC, serving the local patient community.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform non invasive vascular studies, including arterial duplex, venous insufficiency, and carotid imaging.
• Explain procedures to patients, answer their questions, and ensure their comfort throughout the exam.
• Analyze hemodynamic data and produce preliminary reports for interpreting physicians.
• Maintain detailed patient records within the electronic health record system.
• Calibrate and perform routine quality assurance checks on ultrasound equipment.

Requirements

• A current credential as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS).
• Hands on experience with vascular ultrasound protocols; new grads with completed clinical rotations are also encouraged.
• Proficiency with Philips or GE ultrasound systems is a plus.
• The job involves prolonged standing, lifting patients for positioning, and pushing heavy equipment carts.

The environment is a mix of scheduled outpatient appointments and urgent inpatient requests. You'll collaborate closely with a small team of sonographers and vascular lab staff. Most of your day will be spent in darkened procedure rooms, working with sophisticated imaging software.
