Produce Specialist

What you'll actually be doing

This is a supervisory role in the produce and floral department. You'll make sure guests get polite, friendly service every time they shop. You're responsible for hitting budgeted sales and profit targets. Inventory and supplies need to stay at the right levels. You'll follow Lowes Foods merchandising and operational guidelines closely. Product quality has to meet their standards, and you will keep sanitation and safety in check. You'll provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to your team so they perform well. When needed, you will handle product prep, receiving, conditioning, stocking, and guest service yourself. You'll manage the department's labor budget and scheduling. And you'll do any other duties management assigns.

What happens after training

Once training is complete, you're expected to fill a Department Manager role within 30 miles of your home. If no position is open at that time, you'll stay in your bench role until one opens up. This isn't a permanent bench spot ; it's a pipeline into running your own department.

What you need to bring

• A friendly, outgoing personality ; you genuinely like helping people
• You work well with others, no drama
• You can lift 50 pounds regularly and 25 pounds constantly
• You can read, understand, and follow written information and directions
• You have knowledge of produce operations
• You can supervise people, including training and developing them
• A willingness to learn multiple tasks and the technical side of the job
• Effective communication and guest service skills
• You can bend, kneel, and stand for long stretches
