Pediatric RN

Pediatric RN ; Travel Assignment

Fusion Medical Staffing needs a Pediatric RN for a 13 week travel assignment in Winston Salem, NC. You'll work with children and their families, delivering care that's specific to each patient's age and developmental stage. This role covers assessments, medication administration, family education, and collaboration with the healthcare team.

What You'll Do

• Explain procedures and treatments to children and families in a way that builds understanding and reduces fear
• Administer prescribed medications using pediatric specific dosing and delivery techniques
• Prepare and manage equipment designed for pediatric patients; assist physicians during exams and treatments
• Keep pediatric patients comfortable and safe, factoring in developmental needs while minimizing distress
• Observe patients closely, record significant conditions or reactions, and notify the supervisor or physician of any changes
• Take vital signs including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure; detect deviations and respond appropriately
• Respond to life saving situations following standard nursing policies, procedures, and protocols
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the medical record
• Develop patient and family education plans covering treatment plans, medication management, and age appropriate health topics
• Work with families to create care plans addressing each pediatric patient's unique needs
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at better outcomes for pediatric patients
• Follow hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned within your scope of practice

Required Qualifications & Skills

• One year of recent experience as a Pediatric RN
• A valid RN license that complies with state regulations where you'll work (in this case Oklahoma)
