• Perform sonograms covering Ob/Gyn, abdominal, cerebral, vascular, pediatrics, small part scans, and other necessary studies
• Position and prepare patients for exams based on the specific procedure ordered
• Assess patients throughout procedures and respond to their needs as they come up
• Complete all documentation for each study you perform
• Use professional judgment and critical thinking during every procedure while following universal protocols
• Help orient and train new staff members. You'll also instruct students during their clinical rotations.
• Monitor and evaluate care quality. Look for opportunities to improve through collaboration with others on the team.

The background you need to bring

• Registry by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers must be completed within 3 months of hire
• Registry as a Registered Vascular Technologist must be completed within 3 months of hire
• A current Base Life Support (BLS) verification course as specified in policy is required at time of hire
• A graduation from an accredited school of Medical Sonography is preferred but not mandatory at hiring time
• One year of experience working in an imaging department is preferred but again not strictly required upfront
