About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this RN role at Wesley Rehabilitation Center in Wichita, KS. It's a PRN position, which means the schedule is as needed. You're not signing up for a set 40 hours, but you'll be covering shifts when they need you.
What you'd be doing
You'd be the RN coordinating care for patients in our inpatient rehab unit. The core of it is using that "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage" model. You're the consistent point of contact, advocating for your patients and their families through their recovery.
- You'll assess each patient's condition on admission and every shift, watching closely for any changes.
- A big part of the job is managing pain effectively; that means regular checks and reassessing after any interventions.
- We need you to keep an eye on the safety of the patient's environment, making sure everything meets regulatory standards.
- It's about stewardship too; managing supplies and equipment wisely helps everyone.
- The role involves professional practice activities and shared governance. Your voice matters here.
- And of course, personal accountability for your time and adhering to our Code of Conduct are part of the deal.
What you need to bring
A few non negotiables here. You must have your Registered Nurse license. An Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing is required.
You also need to obtain your Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within your first 30 days if you don't have it already.
The package
Wesley Rehab is part of HCA Healthcare, so the benefits are pretty comprehensive, even for PRN colleagues. Here’s what’s available:
- Health coverage options for medical, prescription drugs, dental, vision, behavioral health, and telemedicine.
- Wellbeing support that includes free counseling services.
- Programs for time away from work: think paid time off, paid family leave, and disability coverage.
- A 401(k) plan with a company match; they'll match 100% of what you contribute from 3% up to 9% of your pay, depending on how long you've been here.
- There's an Employee Stock Purchase Plan too.
- Education support through tuition assistance, help with student loans, and certification support.
- Additional benefits covering things like adoption assistance, life insurance, and even consumer discounts.
A quick note from us
