About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this job. It's for running a Kwik Shop restaurant in Wichita, KS. I'm looking for someone who actually likes people; guests and their own team; and gets fired up about building a place where folks want to work and eat. This isn't a desk job; it's in the mix, leading by example.
What you'll do
You're ultimately responsible for the whole operation. That means a few big things.
- Your main focus is creating an exceptional guest experience. A friendly greeting matters; making people feel welcomed and building their loyalty is the goal.
- You'll build and develop your team. That covers hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and giving direct feedback on performance.
- Lead that team fairly. You'll support and enforce all company policies and state & federal laws.
- The financial and operational health of the store is on your shoulders. You'll develop performance goals, manage to a budget (sales, expenses, net profit), and aim for year over year improvement.
- Manage the food operation to ensure quality and safety for everything sold.
- Keep the entire store to a high standard of appearance and cleanliness. We're talking spotless food service areas, clean and stocked prep zones, and sparkling bathrooms. You'll delegate tasks to maintain these conditions.
- Oversee quality control, merchandising, safety programs, and other guidelines for successful food service.
The schedule & environment
This is a full time position with a 48 hour minimum work week. You need to be available to work a variety of hours, day or night, as locations can be open 24 hours. Weekend and holiday hours are required.
There's about 5% travel involved, mainly for bank deposits. Reliable transportation is necessary.
The physical side is real: you're on your feet most of the time with regular lifting involved. You need to be able to stand/walk for 8 hours a day; reach overhead; bend; squat; twist; grasp; grip; and work in cooler environments. You'll regularly lift 10 pounds, frequently lift 25 pounds, and occasionally handle up to 40 pounds. The noise level is usually moderate.
Specialized attire is required per brand standards (including slip resistant footwear).
What you need
- A minimum of 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role within a restaurant environment where you were leading a team.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- 1 3 years of overall restaurant experience is preferred.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- You must meet national food safety requirements (you can acquire this certification during employment).
The person who thrives here
You're outgoing with high energy. Comfortable talking with anyone; guests or team members; and you can pivot quickly from one task to another. Being team oriented matters; you're willing to put in extra effort to help others out. Basic computer skills are helpful but not necessarily deal breakers if you're sharp everywhere else.
The practical stuff
