CVOR RN

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this CVOR RN role at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. It's a PRN position, which means the schedule is built on your availability. You're not locked into a set number of hours every week, but you will need to be available for some on call shifts during nights and weekends.

The Work

You'll be in the Cardiovascular Operating Room. Your day revolves around the patient from start to finish.

  • You evaluate patients before they go back for surgery.
  • A big part of this is education; you'll walk patients and their families through what to expect before, during, and after their procedure.
  • You handle all the prep work: IVs, pre op meds, verifying the surgical site with the team.
  • You're a key participant in the safety protocols; the briefing, time out, and debriefing for every case.
  • Your job is to monitor your patient's condition throughout your shift, document everything thoroughly, and respond if anything changes or an emergency arises.
  • It's collaborative work. You're part of a team with surgeons, surgical techs, and other providers to deliver care that's both high quality and centered on the patient.

What You Need To Bring

The non negotiables are pretty straightforward. You need your RN license. A nursing diploma is required. And you have to get your Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within your first 30 days if you don't already have it.

The Details & The Perks

They also invest in good equipment; instruments, devices; so you can focus on patient safety and efficient workflow without fighting outdated gear.

The benefits package is extensive because it's HCA Healthcare. It covers health (medical, prescription, behavioral), dental, vision.
