About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this accounting role at Walser. I've been placing people here for a while. It's a real, grounded company that's been around over 70 years, still family run. They've got 29 dealerships across a few states. What sticks with me is that they put a piece of every sale into their foundation for local schools and nonprofits. Your work actually feeds back into the community, which is pretty rare.
The Work
This isn't just data entry. You're the person making sure the numbers tell the true story. You'll handle the daily rhythm of bank reconciliations and also dig into the bigger monthly pieces.
- Talk with people inside and outside the company; you need to be clear and easy to work with.
- Daily bank reconciliation is your anchor task.
- Each month, you'll reconcile several key accounts: bank floor plan, OEM open accounts, manufacturer rebates and incentives, finance reserves, and credit card statements.
- You'll pull together statistical data for financial reports; think employee counts, inventory units; from various systems.
- Preparing data for our 20 Group NCM reports is part of it.
- You'll help manage adding and paying for inventory on the floor plan.
- Credit card posting and daily reconciliation falls to you.
- When audit season rolls around each year, you're on the team that gets it done.
And look, their core values aren't just posters in a breakroom here: Do The Right Thing, Lead By Example, Display Positive Energy, Be Open Minded. They live by that stuff.
What You Need to Bring
I need someone who doesn't get overwhelmed by details; you organize chaos. This role pays between $45,000 and $60,000 a year, depending on what you walk in with.
- A minimum of two years in a relevant accounting role is required.
- The minimum education requirement is a 2 year Accounting degree. A 4 year degree is strongly preferred.
- You have to be fluent in technology. Specifically, you'll use Tekion dealer software, various banking website portals, and OEM manufacturer portals.
- Strong computer skills are non negotiable; especially Microsoft Office.
- Organization and attention to detail are everything. You'll juggle multiple tasks without dropping balls.
- Manage your time well; there's a flow to the month you need to master.
- You're a collaborator. This work happens with a team.
- If you have prior experience with ADP or Tekion systems already? That's a huge plus for us.
