About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this driving job. It's not just about moving a truck from point A to point B. You're the main point of contact for our customers when their container gets delivered or picked up. That means you've got to be safe, professional, and good with people. The day to day is a mix of driving, operating the lift on the truck, handling paperwork, and making sure everything looks right before it goes to a customer.
What you'll do on a typical day
- Drive a commercial truck with a specialized lift to deliver and pick up storage containers at customer homes and businesses.
- Your first task every morning is a pre trip inspection of your vehicle and equipment; you'll log it, and do it again at the end of your shift.
- Use a company handheld computer for navigation and to confirm deliveries.
- You'll coordinate with customers on site to finalize rental paperwork and payment.
- Clean and check each container before delivery so it's presentable.
- Sometimes you'll take on extra deliveries that come in during the day.
- Small repairs on containers or lift equipment might be needed, either in the field or back at the storage center.
- Keep the cab of your truck clean, inside and out.
- There might be times you help out with tasks around the storage center if they need a hand.
- If any issues or customer questions come up, you communicate those directly to the Driver Lead or Market Manager.
