About This Role
The Role
At The George Washington University Hospital (GW Hospital), you'd be the person who simulates and delivers a planned course of treatment to patients undergoing radiation therapy. It's part of a treatment planning team, and you'd also provide guidance and leadership to junior staff therapists.
What You'd Actually Do
- Simulate treatment fields for radiation oncology patients.
- Deliver daily radiation treatments precisely as the physician prescribes.
- Work with the treatment planning team to make sure each patient gets the right care.
- Guide less senior therapists on technique, positioning, and workflow.
- Keep detailed records of each session using your computer skills.
Who You Are
- A graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program ; that's non negotiable.
- You have three years' experience as a radiologic technologist.
- Certified as a Radiation Therapist in Virginia or Maryland is preferred, but not required when you start. We'll take it if you've got it.
- You can speak and write English fluently; no exceptions there.
- You've got solid communication skills, organizational instincts, and critical thinking chops. These matter every shift.
- A working knowledge of medical terminology is expected. You won't be learning it from scratch here.
- You're comfortable with fundamental computer tasks ; typing, navigating software, entering data. That kind of thing goes into your day naturally.
