About This Role
What you'll do
You'll provide safe, competent nursing care for patients at The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. This is a role where you work within facility policies, standards, and the hospital's philosophy ; patient centered care is the foundation for everything. You'll also provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. And you'll demonstrate service excellence standards, every day, with every patient interaction.
Where you'll work
GW Hospital is a 395 bed tertiary care academic medical center located in downtown Washington, D.C., right next to the Foggy Bottom metro. The hospital was recognized as a Best Regional Hospital by U.S. News & World Report for 2023 2024, ranking 5th in the region. That region covers D.C., parts of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.
GW Hospital earned “High Performing” designations for COPD, Diabetes, Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Kidney Failure, Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma, Lung Cancer Surgery, Pneumonia, Prostate Cancer Surgery, and Stroke. It also achieved “High Performing” status in Neurology and Neuroscience. The hospital is a Level I Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN approved RN program.
- Current BLS certification.
- A current state nursing license.
- Must successfully pass any pre employment assessments required by the facility.
- Prefer one year of full time or three years of part time experience in an acute care setting.
