About This Role
The Opportunity
This is a personal training role at Equinox in Washington, DC. If you're in this field, you already know Equinox isn't your standard gym. The trainers here operate with serious support ; a dedicated management team (two managers, not one) and an in house education program called EFTI that's been running for over twenty years. They actually pay you for your training time, which isn't common in this industry.
Your earning potential hits $100K+ here. That's not a pitch ; it's what the compensation structure supports. And you get benefits like medical, dental, vision, and a 401k within your first month.
What You'll Actually Do
Build and run your own client base. You own your schedule ; client appointments, meetings, open availability ; all managed through their internal systems. You'll market and sell personal training programs through phone calls, emails, and in person conversations. You need to know the club's services, programs, and products inside out.
Deliver real service on the floor. That means fitness assessments, guided workouts, and complimentary services for members. You'll interact with members to improve their experience, coach personalized programs for both in person and virtual clients, and keep the fitness floor organized and safe during your shifts and sessions.
Keep growing professionally. You attend continuing education classes to elevate your knowledge and qualify for promotions. You show up to one on one or team meetings with management. That's not optional ; it's how you move up.

- A current personal training certification ; or a willingness to get one through their certification reimbursement program
- Depending on your experience and education (a degree in the field gets you a higher starting tier and pay rate)

- You can work in person during weekdays and weekends
- Strong verbal and written communication
