Alright, let's talk about this Interventional Radiology Tech role at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. We're offering a $10,000 sign on bonus for the right person.

The Work

You'll be in the thick of it, assisting interventional radiologists with complex diagnostic and therapeutic angiographic procedures. It's a mix of technical skill and direct patient care.

• Perform advanced IR procedures; think peripheral, body, and neurointerventions.
• Act as both scrub tech and circulator, where maintaining sterile technique isn't just a rule, it's everything.
• Use some serious imaging tech. You'll work with DSA, road mapping, pixel shifting, and 3D reconstructions to get the clearest picture possible for the clinical team.
• Your focus is on the patient from start to finish: preparing them, positioning them, and monitoring them throughout the procedure for comfort and safety.
• A big part of the job is strict adherence to radiation safety protocols.
• You'll also apply other clinical skills like physical assessments, starting IVs, running EKGs, and checking vitals.
• Behind the scenes work matters too. Managing inventory and restocking supplies keeps everything running smoothly.

The Schedule & Commitment

This is a full time position. Your core schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. But you need to know going in that you'll rotate into later shifts (like 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM) and take on overnight and weekend on call shifts. That rotating on call schedule is how we make sure the IR team is ready around the clock.

What You Need to Bring

We need someone who's trained for this specific environment.

• An Associate’s Degree or one to three years of formal training from an AMA/JRCERT approved Radiologic Technology program is required.
• You also need one to two years of hands on job experience in Imaging. This has to include performing angiography and other complex radiological exams.
• A non negotiable: you must have passed your ARRT examination and hold that ARRT certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.

The Details

The hiring pay range for this position is $35.68 to $64.71 per hour. You'd be joining MedStar Health, which happens to be one of the largest healthcare systems in this area; and it's been recognized as one of the "Healthiest Maryland Businesses."

$10k Sign On Bonus Terms: Applies only to external candidates new to MedStar Health with at least one year of relevant experience. Internal associates are not eligible. Bonus paid in installments; requires a two year commitment with MedStar Health or repayment may be required. All bonus payments subject to applicable taxes.
