About This Role

Director of Operations, Food & Beverage

Aramark runs the food and beverage program at a multi use arena in Washington, DC that hosts two professional sports teams and a steady calendar of live events. We're looking for someone to take charge of the whole operation ; from hot dog stands to premium clubs to suite service and catering.

This role covers the strategic side (revenue growth, cost control, vendor relationships) and the hands on, day of event side (making sure service runs smoothly for 10,000 people or just 500). It's a leadership job where you're in the building during every event, adapting on the fly as crowds and needs change.

What success looks like in this role

  • Consistently high guest satisfaction scores and positive feedback from fans
  • Revenue and profitability targets are hit ; and ideally exceeded
  • Food and beverage service runs smoothly from first whistle to final exit
  • A strong, engaged team that sticks around and grows

What you'll actually be doing

  • Oversee all concessions, clubs, suites, catering, and the warehouse operation
  • Hire, train, and develop a large event based workforce and your management team
  • Manage inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships ; balancing quality with cost efficiency
  • Keep everything compliant with health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Develop strategies to increase revenue, speed up service, and improve the fan experience
  • Analyze financial performance ; sales, labor costs, profit margins ; and adjust operations as needed
  • Work with arena leadership, team partners, and marketing to tailor offerings to each event and audience
  • Oversee execution across every type of event, changing up operations based on attendance, audience, and event format

Job duties can change or evolve as new priorities come up. That's just how this business works.

What you'll bring

  • 5 to 10+ years of food and beverage operations experience, ideally in a high volume venue like an arena, stadium, or convention center
  • Proven leadership managing large teams in a busy, high energy environment
  • Strong financial skills ; you've managed budgets and driven profit before
  • Solid organizational, communication, and problem solving instincts
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Events don't stick to a 9 to 5 schedule
  • Experience in multi unit or large scale venue operations is a plus
  • Familiarity with premium hospitality services (clubs, suites, VIP experiences) helps
  • Knowledge of point of sale systems and inventory management tools is preferred

Physical demands of this role include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing. You'll also need to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment when required.
