About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this program. It's not a typical job. Year Up United is a training and placement program that runs for a year or less. You're in classes learning real skills, then you get support landing an internship or a job. You also get coaching and a weekly stipend during the internship phase.
The whole point is to give you the tools and the launchpad you need, especially if college isn't your next step right now.
What you'll do in the program
The program has two main parts: learning, then doing.
- First, you're in the classroom. You'll pick one track to specialize in from their list.
- You build professional skills; think communication, networking, how to interview, how to build a resume.
- Then, with support from their placement team, you move into an internship phase with a company.
- If you get an internship, it could be at places like BNY Mellon, Fidelity, or Bank of America here in the Washington, DC area. There are other partner companies too.
- Throughout all of it, you have access to personalized coaching and guidance.

To apply for Year Up United, you have to meet a few criteria. They're pretty straightforward.
- You need to be a high school graduate or have your GED.
- You must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- The program runs Monday through Friday; you have to be available for that entire duration.
- You should be genuinely motivated to learn new technical and professional skills.
