Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer

The Role

Leidos needs a Senior Aerospace Manufacturing Subject Matter Expert for on site work at our customer's location in Washington, DC. You'll join a small team of highly skilled SMEs who provide analytic expertise across launch vehicle and missile systems, satellite technology, and C4ISR. This isn't a desk job where you just read reports ; you'll bring real industrial experience from the design, manufacturing, and testing side of aerospace systems like aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, and missiles. And you'll use that experience to advise senior government stakeholders directly.

What You'll Actually Do

• Show serious proficiency in aerospace manufacturing methods, materials, and tooling ; with specific expertise in ballistic missile production
• Work well both as part of a team and on your own with minimal supervision
• Advise government customers on materials, equipment, and infrastructure tied to ballistic missile proliferation and production
• Teach specialized courses on Missile Materials and Machine Tools
• Apply hands on experience with missile or rocket engine manufacturing methods, tooling, procedures, and testing
• Mentor junior colleagues to help them grow technically and professionally
• Travel as needed ; you'll need a valid U.S. passport for that

What You Need to Bring

• A Bachelor's degree in engineering, aerospace, or a related field plus 15+ years of professional experience in aerospace manufacturing (or 13+ years if you hold a Master's)
• At least an active Secret clearance ; plus the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph

Stuff That Gives You an Edge

• An advanced degree in engineering, physics, or another technical discipline
• 15–20 years of direct experience in aerospace or missile manufacturing
• Familiarity with foreign ballistic missile systems
• Experience working on U.S. military aerospace systems
• A current TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph already in place

The Pay Range (It Matters)

$139,100.00 to $251,450.00 per year.

A couple things about that number: it's a general guideline based on this job level at Leidos. The offer we extend will depend on the specific responsibilities assigned to you as well as your education level prior experience internal equity market data applicable bargaining agreements whatever other factors come into play by law.
