  • Monitor security events. You'll use SIEM platforms to triage alerts across multiple systems ; separating false positives from genuine incidents.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments. Run scans weekly, analyze results, and prioritize patches with the infrastructure team.
  • Respond to incidents. When a breach is suspected, you're first on the scene. Contain it, collect evidence, and write an after action report.
  • Update security policies. Help refine access controls, firewall rules, and incident response playbooks as new threats emerge.
  • Support audits. Gather logs and configuration data for internal or external compliance reviews ; think SOC 2 or ISO 27001 scenarios.
