Unit Highlights

C53 is a 14 bed neuroscience specialty unit. Every room is private. You'd be working at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, which has earned the Magnet® designation five times.

The team cares for a specific mix of patients: those with neurological conditions, post op neurosurgical cases for brain and spine disorders, general medicine patients, and individuals undergoing specialized epilepsy monitoring.

You're supporting some serious centers of excellence here. The hospital is home to a comprehensive Epilepsy Center, a National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence, the largest Multiple Sclerosis Center in the mid Atlantic, a Neuromuscular Diseases Clinic, and a Multidisciplinary Spine Center known for advanced treatments.

The Role

This is clinical nursing. You'll provide direct patient care that ranges from routine to highly complex. Your day is built around assessing how your patients' conditions are changing.

You'll identify both actual and potential health concerns, then develop the care plans to address them. Sometimes you'll carry out interventions yourself; other times you'll coordinate them through the nursing team.

Schedule & Logistics

They've got options. You can choose rotating shifts or commit to nights. There are part time and PRN (as needed) schedules available too.

The hiring pay range is $41.77 to $63.66 per hour.

If you're coming from out of town, there's relocation assistance up to $5,000. And once you're here? Free parking for associates.

What You Need to Bring

• A nursing degree: ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited school. It's required.
• At least one year of experience as an RN in a hospital setting. If your background is in a subacute neuro or stroke rehab unit, that counts too.
• An active DC RN license.
• Basic Life Support certification for healthcare providers from the AHA or American Red Cross.
