The Work

You'll be the one leading the culinary operation. That means you're hands on with your team every day, developing their skills and making sure every plate that leaves the kitchen is right. You'll handle everything from training and managing the kitchen staff to coordinating all the culinary activity.

• Estimate what we need and handle ordering all food.
• You're in charge of creating and refining recipes, making sure our quality is consistent no matter what.
• Setting the standards for how food looks and tastes is on you; so is planning menus and pricing them out.
• Keep an eye on all the equipment; make sure it's running right and maintained properly.
• Safety and sanitation in the kitchen are your direct responsibility.
• You'll oversee special catering events for the ballpark. Sometimes that might mean teaching a technique or doing a demo yourself.
• A big part of this is helping manage our budget and putting company programs into action.

What You Need to Bring

We need someone who's been in a leadership role before. This isn't an entry level gig.

• You need 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar chef/kitchen management position.
• Also 2 to 3 years of education after high school, or an equivalent amount of work experience that adds up to the same thing. A formal culinary degree is a definite plus.
• Your knowledge of food service needs to be solid; we're talking advanced understanding of how a professional kitchen runs.
• You've got to have real experience managing people and solving problems that come up in a kitchen.
• Clear communication is non negotiable. That means speaking, reading, and writing effectively with your team and management.

The Details

The salary range for this salaried position is $70,000 to $80,000 per year. That's our good faith estimate for compensation at the time we posted this.
