About This Role

Hey there. I'm putting together the listing for our next Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant at Lifepoint Rehabilitation in Tampa, FL. What You'll Do

You'll be a key part of the therapy team. Your main focus is on helping patients progress through their treatment plans.

  • Talk with your supervising therapist and other team members about how patients are doing, including any challenges they face.
  • Show family members or nursing staff how to continue exercises and activities outside of therapy sessions.
  • A big part of the job is documentation. You'll record patient care to meet all the rules set by regulators, insurance payers, and accrediting bodies.
  • You'll help get patients on the schedule and handle posting daily charges to their records.
  • Keeping your work area and equipment safe and clean is part of the routine.
  • The work also means following our company's Code of Business Conduct, compliance policies, professional standards, and state and federal laws.
  • And you'll take on other duties as they come up.

The Essentials You Need

To step into this role, there are some non negotiable credentials. Make sure you have these:

  • A certification from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
  • You must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program with an Associate's degree.
  • A current and valid state OTA license or certificate of practice (or its equivalent) for the state where you'll be working is required.
  • CPR certification is needed when it's required for the role.
