Mammography Technologist

What You'll Do

You're the one running the mammography equipment and performing the actual mammography procedures. You'll handle the full range of tasks that come with this role: developing and evaluating films for technical quality ; things like density contrast, definition, and distortion. You'll also explain procedures to patients and educate women on why regular mammograms matter for preventive breast health. And yes, there's the everyday stuff like maintaining records, prepping files, and cleaning or adjusting the equipment as it needs.

This role works under general supervision. You'll rely on your own experience and judgment to plan out your work and get things done. Duties get assigned as they come up, so you'll need to be comfortable shifting gears.

Who You Are

You're registered as a Radiologic and Mammography Technologist through the A.R.R.T. You carry a current Radiology and Mammography license in the state where you're working. And you've got valid hands on CPR certification ; no online only courses here.

Beyond the credentials, you're someone who knows the standard concepts and practices in mammography cold. You can handle a variety of tasks without needing someone to hold your hand through every step.

Physical Stuff to Know

This job isn't a desk gig. You'll be lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds at times. Expect to sit for long stretches, but also spend plenty of time standing and walking around.
