About This Role
Stroke response times here are nearly half the national average. We use cutting edge SPOT technology to detect sepsis earlier than the human eye can, and our Enhanced Surgical Recovery program is reducing opioid prescriptions and readmissions. The Role
This is a charge nurse position in our ICU. You'll be the go to clinical expert on your shift, making sure every patient in this high acuity environment gets efficient, high quality care. You'll lead the nursing team while handling the complex needs of critically ill patients.
What You'll Do
- Assess, plan for, intervene in, and evaluate the care of critically ill patients.
- Administer medications according to physician orders.
- Maintain and review patient records, including posting test and exam results.
- Instruct patients and their families on medications and treatment plans.
- Provide leadership to the nursing team during your designated shift.
What You Need
- A Florida Registered Nurse license, or a compact license with an active FL RN license obtained within 60 days of hire.
- A Nursing Diploma or ASN is required; a BSN is preferred.
- Current BLS certification is required. You'll need ACLS certification within 6 months of hire or transfer.
- At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
- You need critical thinking skills, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and basic PC skills are also needed.
