About This Role
The Job
Performance Foodservice is looking for a Sales Representative to work in Tallahassee, FL. This isn't a desk job where you punch numbers all day. You'll be out in the field, building relationships with independent restaurants, hotels, schools, and other local foodservice customers. Your main job is to grow the business ; both by bringing in new accounts and getting more out of existing ones.
The territory covers both Albany and Tifton, GA.
What You'll Actually Do
- Analyze your sales territory and individual customer accounts to figure out where the next opportunity is hiding.
- Sample products with both current customers and people who aren't buying from you yet.
- Plan your sales strategy ; that means managing your time and territory, tailoring your approach for each customer, and delivering presentations that actually close deals.
- Set up new customer accounts. That includes working with the Credit Department to get initial authorization and coordinating with the warehouse and delivery teams to schedule orders and deliveries.
- Follow up with new customers after the first delivery to make sure everything arrived right and they're happy.
- Keep existing customers satisfied by working with the rest of the center team to prevent problems and fix any that pop up.
- In emergency situations, you might need to hop in a truck and make deliveries yourself.
- Deepen relationships with current accounts by getting them to buy more of our products, which directly boosts profitability.
- Watch accounts for credit compliance and follow up on any payment issues that come up.
- Keep an eye on pricing trends in your territory ; especially for commodity items and market driven products ; so you stay competitive.
- Do whatever else is needed to get the job done and support the team.
What You Need to Bring
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- At least 6 to 12 months of experience in sales, marketing, and/or restaurant work.
- A valid driver's license. You'll need it to cover the territory.
