What You'll Be Doing

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Tacoma, WA, you'll work directly with patients to help them regain their physical abilities and independence. You'll implement occupational therapy programs and activities that follow recovery plans developed by the therapy team. Delivering treatment is a big part of this role, but so is seeing each patient as a whole person with individual needs.

You'll adapt to whatever each patient requires, which keeps the work varied and interesting. Collaboration matters here ; you'll work alongside your peers and make referrals when patients need care beyond what you provide. Your ultimate goal is to execute a program that restores, reinforces, and enhances their independence. You're putting patients first, making sure they and their families get the highest quality service in a caring atmosphere.

Where You'll Work

This is an in facility position in Tacoma, WA. You'll report to the Director of Rehab.

Who This Is For

• You graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program that meets AOTA and ACOTE standards.
• You hold initial certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
• You're licensed or eligible for licensure as required in Tacoma, WA.
• You're a healer who sees the whole patient, not just a diagnosis.
• You thrive on variety and can adapt your approach from one patient to the next.
• You enjoy collaborating with colleagues but also know when to make referrals.
