What you'll actually do here
This isn't a job where you just punch a clock. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist II at Henrico Doctors' Hospital in Sussex, VA, you're the person who coordinates and delivers high quality, patient centered respiratory care. You'll work with physicians and nurses to implement care plans, monitor patient responses, and adjust treatments as needed. You're expected to maintain a safe environment ; for patients and for yourself. And you'll document everything in the medical record, because that's how we make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
You'll assess your patients' respiratory status, administer medications and treatments, and operate advanced equipment like ventilators. When a patient's condition changes, you're the one who notices and escalates. You'll also educate patients and their families about respiratory care at home. It's a clinical role, but it's also a human one.
What you need to bring
- Graduate of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Current state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in Sussex, VA
- RRT credential from the NBRC
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- NRP certification
- Minimum one year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
The schedule
This is a full time position. You'll work night shifts ; 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, three days a week. That means every other weekend and rotating holidays, too. It's not for everyone, but if you prefer nights, this is your kind of gig.
