What You'll Be Doing

This isn't just a therapy job. As a Therapist II at Health Connect America, you're providing direct mental health services to people in our community. You'll work with children, families, and adults, delivering care in their homes, their neighborhoods, or in one of our offices. Your job is to help clients move toward self improvement and more fulfilling lives.

You'll start with comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments. From there, you'll create individualized treatment plans alongside the client, their family, and our treatment team. Those plans include measurable goals and clear objectives.

You'll deliver therapy in individual, group, and family sessions. The techniques you use will address anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral disorders. You'll keep a caseload and stay in regular contact with each client, tracking their progress and adjusting their plan when needed.

Documentation is a real part of this role. You'll document every interaction, every treatment plan, every progress note, and anything else required by company policy. And you'll do it within established timeframes.

You'll also work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. That means collaborating with other professionals internally and externally. You'll attend regular treatment team meetings to discuss client progress and strategies.

When a crisis happens, you're the one providing immediate support and intervention. You'll develop safety plans and coordinate with emergency services when necessary.

Outreach and marketing are part of it too. You'll engage with the community to promote our services and attract new referrals. And you'll connect clients and families with additional resources they need.

As a licensed clinician at Health Connect America, your NPI number will be used to bill for services performed by those under your supervision. So you're responsible for keeping your credentials current and staying on top of all training requirements.

What You'll Need

The specific requirements depend on the state where you're licensed. Here's what's needed by state.

Alabama: A Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. You must hold a current professional license in Alabama as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW.

Florida: A Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. You must hold a current credential in Florida as an RMHCI, LPC, LMFT, or LCSW. And you need at least one year of experience working with children or families. Internships and volunteer work count.

Mississippi: A Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.

No matter the state, you'll need to stay current with best practices, new treatment modalities, and emerging trends. And you'll participate in ongoing training, workshops, and professional development.

Additional Details

If you're providing services in North Carolina, the role includes extra responsibilities. You'll actively engage with individuals through assessment, coordination, health promotion, and transitional care. You'll document those assessments and coordinate with the care team and treatment teams. And you'll provide comprehensive care management, coordination, health promotion, individual and family supports, and referrals to community resources.
