Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, and other vascular procedures.
• Monitor patient hemodynamics and vital signs continuously, recognizing and responding to subtle changes.
• Administer medications, including moderate sedation, under physician direction while maintaining strict aseptic technique.
• Operate and troubleshoot complex equipment like hemodynamic monitoring systems and intra aortic balloon pumps.
• Educate patients and their families on procedures, recovery expectations, and post discharge care plans.

Requirements

• A current, unrestricted RN license for the state where St. Paul, MN is situated.
• Minimum of two years of recent acute care experience; prior Cath Lab, ICU, or ER background is a major plus.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS are mandatory. RCIS or CCRN credentials are highly valued.
• The job involves prolonged standing, wearing lead aprons for extended periods, and lifting/positioning patients. You need the stamina for long cases and the mental focus for high stakes situations.
