X-Ray Technologist

ChenMed·St. Louis, MO

About This Role

We're a different kind of primary care clinic, and we're growing. We need an X Ray Technologist in St. Louis, MO who gets that this job is about people first, technology second.

What you'll do

Your main focus is performing radiographic exams ordered by our physicians. You'll make sure every image is technically sound, properly positioned, and processed right, all while following the ALARA principle to keep patient radiation dose as low as possible.

  • Position patients correctly, adjust equipment, and handle all necessary radiation protection measures.
  • The role includes a mix of patient care to help our doctors; you'll assist with procedures, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and give injections.
  • You're responsible for maintaining records and managing the radiological film library. That means filing storage, pulling X rays for referrals, and keeping logs of what's been sent out.
  • Keeping an updated log to track performed X rays against received reports is part of the routine.
  • General duties like maintaining supplies and equipment, following OSHA standards, and ensuring all documentation is accurate are always part of the job.
  • Be ready for some local travel. You might be asked to cover shifts at multiple centers in the area.

What you bring

We need someone who can collaborate genuinely with everyone; doctors, nurses, front desk staff, managers. A problem solving mindset focused on patient care and team goals is non negotiable.

  • You have to communicate well with patients and colleagues. Empathy isn't a buzzword here; it's required.
  • Familiarity with standard medical policies, procedures, products, and services is important.
  • You'll need basic tech skills to operate phones, PCs, software systems, and our EMR platform (experience with one is a plus).
  • Staying organized to keep patient flow moving smoothly is key. And you've got to keep your cool when things get busy or stressful.
  • A sharp eye for detail ensures all your reports and data are accurate.

The must haves

  • A graduate from an accredited program for Radiological Technology or as a Basic X Ray Machine Operator. Graduating from an accredited Medical Assistant program is a nice bonus.
  • At least one year of work experience as an x ray technologist in a healthcare setting. If you've got two years or more? Even better.
  • A current state license or certification if your state regulations require it.
  • A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. You'll need to get this within your first 90 days if you don't have it already.
