About This Role
What this is
Upshift's looking for Banquet Servers to pick up shifts at events in St. Louis, MO. This isn't a traditional job. You use an app to see what's available and choose the shifts you want. Work one day, work five days; it's up to you.
The pay for these shifts is $25 an hour.
What you'd be doing
You're the face of the event. You'll greet people, help them find their seats, and take their orders. Then you're running food and drinks from the kitchen and bar, refilling glasses, and keeping things moving. Sometimes that means carrying a tray around the room all night.
It's a physical job. You're on your feet your whole shift, constantly moving. You'll be lifting and carrying things; often up to 25 pounds, sometimes up to 50. You need to be able to reach, kneel, and stoop without a problem. Good eyesight and hearing are pretty important too; events get loud and busy.
The Upshift deal
- You make your own schedule entirely. Pick shifts when and where you want them.
- Work as much or as little as you like.
- No experience? No problem. There are shifts for all skill levels.
- The application doesn't need a resume or an interview.
- After your first paycheck, you can get benefits like medical, dental, and vision coverage.
The app shows hundreds of different shifts; not just serving. People work as bakers, baristas, warehouse associates, packers, housekeepers, and a bunch of other roles. What you see is what you get: every shift lists its pay before you even apply.
How to start
If this sounds like your kind of flexibility, here's all you do: go to upshift.work/for people/sign up and fill out the form. After a quick onboarding session, you're in. You can start browsing and booking shifts right away.
A quick note: This posting is for Upshift, a platform for flexible work. By applying, you're joining their network of workers for various shift based roles.
