The Job
Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is hiring an Advanced Practitioner for the Chase Family Movement Disorders Center in Springfield, MA. You won't be starting from scratch here. The training is built into the schedule ; you'll do ongoing shared patient visits with an attending, fellowship trained movement disorders neurologist. That's how you learn this complex patient population, and you'll keep doing it until you're solid.
You'll work Monday through Friday with very light office call. There's no weekend grind or overnight shifts here.
What You'll Actually Do
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team planning and delivering care for patients with movement disorders
- See patients alongside an attending neurologist for shared visits ; initial diagnostics and follow up care
- Handle a wide range of conditions: essential tremors, restless legs syndrome, dystonia, Huntington's disease, and Parkinson's disease
- Coordinate with consultants and other clinicians on a patient driven treatment plan
- Take a personal, compassionate approach ; this program is built around what patients and their families tell us they need
What You Need
- Eligibility to get licensed in Connecticut as a Physician Assistant (PA), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP)
- Experience as an Advanced Practitioner is preferred, especially if you've worked in neurology
