General/Operations Manager

What you'll be doing

You're partnering with the General Manager to run a neighborhood bakery cafe. That means you're in the mix every day.

• You'll handle staffing; figuring out who needs to be on which shift, hiring new folks, and getting them trained up right.
• A big part of your job is developing the team. Motivating them, coaching them, celebrating their wins. You're helping create future leaders right in your cafe.
• You and the GM work together to make sure performance goals are hit. We're talking about quality standards, guest service expectations, and hitting those business targets.
• It's on you to help ensure every guest has a great experience with our food and service. Building those relationships is what creates regulars.
• You'll follow and help execute all of Panera's operational procedures and company initiatives.
• Keeping things safe and compliant is non negotiable. You'll make sure the team follows all policies and health regulations.
• You'll assist with managing overall costs and inventory for the cafe.
• And honestly? You're a key part of building the culture there; making it a place where people feel welcome, trusted, and like they can grow.

The stuff you need to bring

This isn't an entry level gig. You need some skin in the game.

• You have to be at least 18 years old.
• A year or more of restaurant management experience is preferred; we really want someone who's done this before.
• ServSafe certification is required. If you don't have it yet, you need to be able to get it.
• You've got to show you can drive positive business results. We need someone who understands how a cafe runs profitably.
• The schedule isn't a typical 9 to 5. You need flexibility for nights and weekends. Things move fast here; priorities shift, and you've got to run great shifts through it all while directing and coaching your team.
• The job offer depends on passing a background check.

The physical side of things

• You need to be able to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds.
