The work happens where people gather. Stadiums, convention centers, festivals, and private events all need someone who can spot trouble brewing. You're not just there to react when something goes wrong ; you're there to prevent it from ever happening.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Access control. Checking tickets, badges, or wristbands at entry points. Making sure only authorized people get through.
  • Crowd monitoring. Scanning the audience for signs of distress or disruptive behavior. Knowing when to step in and when to hold back.
  • Incident response. Handling everything from medical emergencies to intoxicated patrons with professionalism and composure.
  • Perimeter checks. Walking the venue before doors open and during events to spot hazards like blocked exits or suspicious items.
  • Communication with coordinators. Staying in touch with event staff, local law enforcement if needed, and fellow officers via radio or headset.

Requirements

  • A valid state security license or registration is mandatory for this role in Spokane, WA (requirements vary by jurisdiction).
  • A high school diploma or GED minimum; some employers prefer college coursework in criminal justice or a related field but it's not required here.
