The Job

Avera Medical Group Pediatrics in Sioux Falls, SD needs a Pediatric RN who's ready to step into a role where you're actually involved in every part of a patient's visit. You won't just be stuck behind a desk all day. You'll work alongside physicians and other healthcare staff to keep the clinic running smoothly and patients cared for properly.

What You'll Actually Do

• Perform general nursing care and administer medications and treatments based on nursing standards.
• Get the exam room ready and assist the provider during procedures, treatments, exams, and testing.
• Keep an eye on patients ; observe, record, and report their condition and how they react to drugs and treatments.
• Handle appointment scheduling and make sure emergency cases get priority.
• Keep patients moving through the clinic on time. Greet them, get them prepped for exams.
• Screen patients by taking health histories, vitals, and doing nursing assessments. Document everything in the chart.
• Show patients how to collect samples and handle tests.
• Take patient phone calls and loop in the physician when needed.
• Teach patients and families about diagnostics, medications, nutrition, and staying healthy.
• Troubleshoot patient care issues and complaints as they come up.
• Stock and clean exam rooms. Make a list of supplies that are running low.
• Label pathology specimens correctly per lab protocol.
• Run quality control checks and keep records on all lab testing.

What You Need

• An active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state you'll be working in. You need this before you start.
• You have to be able to work the day shift hours specified.
• You need visual acuity to do the job and the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
• You must be able to communicate effectively with others.

Schedule & Pay

This is a day shift position. The pay range is $27.75 to $41.25 per hour. Your actual rate depends on your experience. You could also be eligible for a $6,000 sign on bonus.
