What this role is about
Greg's Automotive runs a shop that gets noticed. People from all over the country visit to see how we do things, and they leave saying our facility and our people are among the best they've seen. As a Service Advisor, your job is to help customers understand what their vehicle needs and to sell the services and products we offer ; all while following the store's standards. It's part sales, part customer service, and part making sure every person who walks in feels like family.
What you'll actually do
- Greet customers in person and on the phone using our standardized service approach ; professional, courteous, consistent.
- Listen carefully to what the customer says, document their concerns, inspect the vehicle, and check service history so you can nail down what's needed.
- Make service recommendations based on your knowledge of what we offer.
- When the technician finds something extra, you're the one who explains it to the customer so they can decide what to do.
- Document every recommendation in the customer's file.
- Promote the right services, parts, and accessories ; you're showing customers what makes sense for their situation.
- Give accurate quotes with cost and completion time for every approved service.
- Keep customers updated during the day on where things stand.
- When a ticket closes, review the completed multi point inspection, explain warranties, and follow proper cash out procedures.
- After the work is done, call customers to follow up on repairs and any services they declined ; you're making sure they're satisfied.
- Track new returns, core returns, and warranty parts for your customers.
- Other duties as they come up.
What you need to bring
- You have to be at least 18 years old.
- You can work a minimum of five days a week, including weekends.
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor? That's helpful, but it's not required. We'll train the right person.
- You present yourself professionally and you can work in a process driven environment.
Compensation and benefits
The pay for this role goes up to $60,000 per year, depending on your experience. Here's what else you get:
