Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits

Sales Representative

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Sales Consultant role at Southern Glazer's in Seattle, WA. I've been placing people here for a while. It's not your average sales gig. You're not just pushing product; you're building the business for the biggest name in wine and spirits distribution. They're family owned, been around since 1933, and they actually invest in their people. That matters.

What you'll do

Your main job is to be the face of Southern Glazer's with your customers. You build real relationships, the kind based on trust, and then you use that trust to help their businesses grow.

  • You'll own a set of accounts, visiting them regularly to understand what they need.
  • A big part of your day is pre planning those visits using their CRM system, called Proof. You document an agenda and your selling opportunities before you even walk in the door.
  • It's about consultative selling. You analyze data and insights to spot opportunities for growth beyond just the usual orders.
  • For each account, you create a specific business growth plan and build a pipeline to drive those incremental sales.
  • You have to know our portfolio inside and out so you can present and position products correctly.
  • Managing customer issues is on you too; resolving them quickly and finding new ways to support their needs is key.
  • You'll stay sharp on what competitors are doing in your accounts and adjust your approach based on each customer's buying style.
  • There will be sales meetings, training sessions, and supplier events to participate in as needed.

The essentials we need from you

Let's be direct about what it takes to do this well. These aren't nice to haves; they're the baseline.

  • First off, you must be 21 or older.
  • A reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance are non negotiable. You're on the road visiting accounts.
  • You need to be comfortable analyzing data and using it to tell a story. Building customer presentations and proposals is part of the craft.
  • Tech savvy is a must. You'll use company tech daily and need to be proficient with mobile devices like iPads and smartphones for communication (email, texting) in a totally professional way.
  • The environment moves fast. You have to be someone who can deliver consistent results, even when things get tough or ambiguous.
  • Communication is everything; tailoring your message whether you're talking to a store owner or management.
  • Takes ownership of their actions and results. Committed to providing a high level of service across the board: customers, suppliers, colleagues.
