The Gist of It

SFW Construction is an industry leader in exterior repair, waterproofing, and structural restoration. They are looking for a skilled carpenter who can lead crews, solve complex exterior issues, and take full ownership of high quality projects. This isn't a job where you just show up; it's a role for someone who leads from the front.

What You'll Actually Do

You'll work as a Lead Carpenter on exterior repair and restoration projects throughout the Seattle Metro area. It's a hands on leadership role where you'll be in charge of the crew and the quality of the finished work.

  • Lead and oversee crews performing siding, framing, waterproofing, rot repair, and exterior carpentry work.
  • Diagnose structural and exterior envelope issues, including water intrusion, dry rot, and framing damage.
  • Perform and supervise window and door installations, deck construction, and exterior restoration projects.
  • Coordinate daily job site operations, crew workflow, materials, and project timelines.
  • Ensure projects meet company quality standards, production goals, and safety expectations.
  • Train, mentor, and support carpenters and crew members in the field.
  • Read and interpret project scopes, measurements, and construction specifications.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, project managers, and field leadership.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and professional job sites.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment safely and efficiently.

What You Need to Bring

They're looking for someone with real experience who can step in and lead. Here's what's required:

  • Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience preferred.
  • Strong experience with framing, siding, and exterior carpentry.
  • Experience with rot repair, waterproofing, and structural repair work preferred.
  • Previous crew lead or leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of structural framing and building envelope systems.
  • Ability to lead crews, manage workflow, and maintain production standards on active job sites.
  • Professional communication and customer facing skills.
  • Fluent English communication required.
  • Professional, dependable, and team oriented attitude.
  • Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to lift and carry construction materials and perform physical job duties throughout the workday.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

  • Schedule: Full time, averaging 40 50 hours per week with optional overtime based on project workload.
