Registered Nurse, Eating Disorder Treatment

This is a per diem RN role at Rosewood in Scottsdale, AZ. You'll work the day shift, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

We treat people with anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorders. The work is about treating the whole person; medical, emotional, psychological. It's complex and it matters.

The Work You'll Do

You're the nurse on the treatment team. That means you handle the clinical side while being part of a bigger plan for each patient's recovery.

• Admit new patients; get provider orders and complete the initial nursing assessment within 24 hours.
• Your day involves vital signs, orthostatic vitals, blind weights, and detailed charting.
• You monitor patient progress and document everything according to policy.
• A big part of this is medication management. You'll ensure med boxes are accurate and MARs are updated. You also help patients learn to safely manage their own medications for life after discharge.
• Coordinate lab work. Get specimens drawn, track down results, and communicate them to the medical team.
• You have to know your meds; actions, side effects, contraindications. If you don't know one, you look it up before giving it.
• Maintain patient records in our electronic system. Keep them current and thorough.
• The environment matters. You help maintain a therapeutic milieu by monitoring behaviors and working with the team to keep things structured and safe.
• Pass along key information from patients or families to the rest of the interdisciplinary team so care plans stay relevant.
• Work directly with medical and psychiatric providers to integrate nursing care with overall treatment goals.
• Be part of discharge planning to make sure transitions out of our care are safe and coordinated.
• Attend monthly nurse meetings and other team meetings as needed.
• Provide health education to patients in individual or group settings when it fits, and document those sessions properly.
• Sometimes you'll help patients coordinate their outside medical appointments.

The Essentials You Need

• A current RN license for this state is mandatory; you'll practice within its guidelines every day.
• The ability to deliver clinical nursing care that's both safe and competent isn't just a phrase here; it's the baseline expectation for every interaction.

A Few More Details

(Florida based applicants only): Familiarity with the Baker Act process is required for roles in that state.
