Sales Representative
About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this job. It's for a Life Insurance Sales Agent with the Auto Club of Southern California in Santa Clarita, CA. I've been placing people here for years, and they run a solid operation. This isn't a cold calling grind; you're working with an existing, loyal membership base that already knows and trusts the AAA name.
What You'd Be Doing
Your day is built around connecting with members. You'll make warm calls from their provided database and also talk to members who walk into the local branch. The core of the job is understanding what someone needs financially and clearly explaining how life insurance fits into that picture. It's about service; helping people get something valuable and then making sure they stay happy with it down the road.
What You Need to Bring
- A high school diploma is required. A college degree helps, but it's not mandatory.
- You have to be able to qualify for a Life Insurance license; they pay for the training and licensing.
- Solid sales experience is a big plus. Honestly, it's highly preferred.
- You need to communicate well, both talking with people and writing things down.
- Basic computer skills and some organization will keep you on track.
- This role demands self motivation. You're building your own book of business within their system.
- A competitive drive is non negotiable. Meeting and beating monthly goals is the expectation.
- Speaking Spanish fluently is a strong advantage here.
And look, prior insurance experience isn't required. It's a nice bonus if you have it, but don't let that stop you from applying if you're a good salesperson from another industry. Everyone they hire has to pass a background check, credit check, and drug screen successfully.
The Schedule & Pay Structure
This is a full time position. You start at $24.04 an hour while you're in training. After training, your earnings shift to a base plus commission model using those warm leads they provide. There are no caps on commissions when you exceed your goals.
Agents who meet their sales targets typically earn between $86,200 and $105,300 per year. The earning potential goes beyond that if you really perform; they mention it's 100K+ with uncapped commissions.
Benefits & Perks
- Health insurance covering medical, dental, and vision.
- A 401(k) savings plan with a company match and a Pension plan on top of it.
- Paid time off and floating holidays you can use for community volunteer work.
- Paid parental leave.
- Tuition assistance programs.
