The Role

What You'll Actually Do

• Assist the Executive Chef in all areas of kitchen operations
• Supervise line cooks and kitchen attendants directly
• Ensure a superior food offering every day ; from prep to presentation
• Handle ordering procedures for produce, dairy, meat, fish, and more
• Keep food and labor cost controls in check
• Train staff and build a kitchen team that communicates well

What You Need to Bring

Five years of experience in a high end restaurant, club, hotel, or senior living kitchen is the baseline. Not negotiable. You also need kitchen supervision under your belt and solid training skills ; you'll be teaching people. Advanced cooking matters here: garde manger, baking, sauces, all methods of hot and cold food prep and presentation. That's preferred. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. A Culinary Arts degree is a plus. Prior experience with a Point of Sale (POS) system is preferred. Current state health and sanitation certification is required. You need a valid and current driver's license where applicable. Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required ; or you must be willing and able to get certified.
