About This Role

The Role

This is a Clinical Nurse Coordinator position in the Oncology unit at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, CA. You're the person who keeps the shift running smoothly, makes sure patients get high quality care, and helps the team stay on track. You'll work closely with management to direct and monitor nursing care, following hospital policies and procedures. Staff will look to you as a resource, and you'll model what it means to put patients first while supporting the organization's bigger goals.

What You'll Do Day to Day

  • Help with admissions and discharges to keep patient throughput efficient and care centered on the patient
  • Assess the quality of patient care services in the unit regularly, working with the management team
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to build a team environment that improves outcomes and service
  • Keep a patient first mindset and step in for service recovery when things go sideways
  • Support hospital engagement efforts by putting nursing strategies into action, like employee rounding and hourly rounds
  • Give input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff
  • Recommend and follow through on training, conflict resolution, policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions
  • Help with staff scheduling and manage labor to match patient needs and productivity guidelines
  • Handle inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment

What You Need to Bring

  • An active Registered Nurse license in California
  • An Associate's Degree in Nursing ; that's required. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred but not mandatory
  • 2 years of clinical experience in an applicable clinical area
  • Leadership or management experience is preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification must be obtained within 6 months of your start date

Pay

The hourly wage estimate for this role is $91.36 to $137.00. Your actual pay will depend on your specific skills, years of experience, and where you land compared to others already in this role. Most new hires come in below the midpoint of that range.
