
About This Role
I’ve been recruiting for Fidelity for over a decade, and this is one of those roles that changes how advisors work. You're not starting from zero here. The firm provides you with an established book of clients and steady referrals from institutional partners. Your job isn't to cold call; it's to go deep.
The Role
You'll be based in our Investor Center in San Jose, CA, meeting clients face to face. The goal is to build on existing relationships, understand what they need next, and craft more sophisticated financial plans. You've got the full backing of the firm's open architecture platform and resources, so you can focus on being the advisor.
What You Need to Bring
- You've successfully built client relationships before; you know how to uncover real needs and recommend solutions that fit.
- A FINRA Series 7 license is required. You also need your Series 66, or the ability to obtain it soon after you start.
- Extensive knowledge across investment solutions is a must.
- Your skill is in explaining complex strategies to a knowledgeable clientele in a way that builds trust and credibility.
- A degree or professional certifications like a CFP are helpful. If you don't have one yet, Fidelity's Tuition Reimbursement program can help you get there.

Compensation & Benefits
The base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 per year. Where you land in that range depends on your experience, geographic location, and other factors.
Base salary is just one part of the package. Depending on eligibility, your offer may include bonus or other variable compensation.

The Practical Details
Schedule: This is a hybrid role. It requires working onsite at a Fidelity office every other week (Monday through Friday). Your recruiter will confirm the specific expectations for this position in San Jose, CA.
Training: You will receive extensive training; in branch, regionally, nationally, and virtually. You won't fail from a lack of support or onboarding.
