About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this Associate Brand Manager role for Constellation Brands' Wine & Spirits portfolio in San Francisco, CA. It's a core marketing job where you're helping steer the ship for some major brands.
You'd be right in the middle of it all, working with the Brand Manager to set strategy and then making sure it actually happens. That means digging into data, guiding creative work, and connecting a lot of dots across the company to hit volume, profit, and share targets.
What you'd be doing
- Help develop the brand's short and long term marketing plans and strategies.
- Take the lead on executing those brand plans and specific tactics to meet business goals.
- Partner with the Consumer Insights team to shape brand strategy, figure out who we're talking to, and define our positioning.
- Jump into the creative process for national and local ad campaigns.
- Own the business analysis for your brands; you're constantly checking performance against targets using internal and external data to spot problems or opportunities.
- Work with Finance to measure how sales promotions are doing at the wholesaler level and analyze the profitability of our marketing spend.
- Collaborate with the Retail and Trade Marketing teams to build brand promotions; you'll give direction and help evaluate what works.
- Help guide national and local consumer promotion programs at retail, along with point of sale materials or any special brand programs.
- Partner with our Direct to Consumer team (that's Hospitality, eCommerce, and Wine Club) to keep programming consistent across those channels.
- You're a hub for communication. You'll regularly connect with Field Marketing, Luxury Events, PR, DTC, Finance, Operations, Production; pretty much everyone.
- The job includes market visits and helping out with Business Unit planning meetings.
- Support day to day budget management: purchase orders, invoices, keeping an eye on spending versus volume expectations throughout the year.
- Pull together materials for executive updates, sales meetings, retailer presentations; whatever's needed.
The background we need
- A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management or something relevant is required. An MBA is a big plus here.
- The experience we're looking for breaks down one of two ways: either 3 5 years in brand management within CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods), or 1 2 years in brand management plus an MBA. If you've got exposure to beverages or alcohol specifically? Even better.
The skills that make sense here
- Sell ideas clearly; to upper management or anyone else in the organization; and communicate complex stuff simply in writing or verbally.
- Crack open trend analysis or research reports not just to read them but to find actionable insights that move the needle.
