Veterinarian

Jamacha Pet Vets is a busy, well run small animal hospital in San Diego, CA. We've got a loyal client base and we're growing, so we're looking to add another veterinarian to our team. The vibe here is collaborative and positive; we practice good medicine with great support so you can focus on being a doctor.

The Work

You'll see appointments from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The day is a mix of wellness exams, urgent care visits, procedures, surgery, and dentistry.

• Our support staff is top notch. You'll have RVTs and assistants working at the top of their licenses to handle treatments, estimates, and workflow.
• We use an AI scribe for your medical notes.
• Surgical procedures include spays/neuters, mass removals, cystotomies, laceration repairs, enucleations, and more.
• You'll be part of a collaborative group where doctors regularly discuss cases and share ideas.
• A boarded internist and cardiologist are regularly scheduled in house, and we have a traveling surgeon. We also have great relationships with local specialists and emergency hospitals.

The Hospital

It's a clean, modern space designed to work well for both the team and our patients.

• Free standing building with its own parking lot.
• Eight exam rooms total; one is a dedicated comfort room.
• A spacious treatment area with six wet tables.
• Dedicated workstations for doctors and techs overlook the treatment area.
• A full dental suite with two tables and therapeutic laser.
• A separate heated post op recovery suite.
• A new ultrasound room.
• Full in house IDEXX lab diagnostics plus send out capabilities.
• In house pharmacy supported by an online pharmacy option for clients.

What You Bring

You need your DVM or VMD degree and a California veterinary license (or immediate eligibility for one). New graduates are absolutely welcome; we provide structured mentorship to get you started strong.

The Details & Benefits

The schedule is full time or part time. Compensation includes a competitive base salary plus production bonuses without negative accrual. And San Diego, CA itself is pretty great; it's sunny East County San Diego community about 20 minutes from downtown or the coast. You get suburban living with easy access to beaches, hiking trails, and city life when you want it.
