LePort Montessori in San Diego, CA needs a temporary, full time Long Term Substitute Assistant Teacher for our Infant classroom starting in May. You won't just be filling a spot; you'll be part of a team that creates a genuinely nurturing, calm, and stimulating space for the littlest learners.

Here's what the day to day looks like:

• Modeling positive behavior and kindness for the children
• Supporting group time and getting kids outside for play
• Making those tricky transitions between activities go smoothly
• Preparing engaging learning materials that spark curiosity
• Helping children hit independence milestones (it's a big deal for toddlers)
• Supporting language development, social and emotional learning, and executive functioning skills
• Keeping the classroom a lovely, inviting place to be

What You Bring

We want someone who's naturally positive, communicates well, and genuinely loves child development. Here's what you need:

• At least 18 years old
• A high school diploma (minimum)
• 12 Early Childhood Education Units
• Previous teaching experience
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Compliance with all state education and licensing standards, plus maintaining valid credentials for the role

The Physical Side of Things

This job keeps you moving. You'll frequently walk, stand, sit, squat, stoop, reach, kneel, get up off the floor, twist, listen, read, write, and speak English. You'll also carry things, lift, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, or bend. Clear vision and hearing (with or without correction) are needed too. Compensation & Culture
