Substitute Teacher

What You'll Do

This is an on call, part time Assistant Teacher role working across LePort Montessori's Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classrooms in San Diego, CA. You'll team up with a supportive group of educators to create a calm, caring space where kids can really thrive.

• Model positive behavior and kindness for children throughout the day
• Support group time and outdoor play activities
• Help make transitions between activities feel smooth and natural
• Prepare engaging learning materials for students
• Guide children toward independence milestones, from practical life skills to self care
• Support language development, social and emotional learning, and executive functioning skills
• Keep the classroom environment lovely, inviting, and ready for exploration

What You'll Need

We're looking for someone who's naturally upbeat, communicates well, and genuinely cares about how young children grow and learn. Here's what's required:

• At least 18 years old
• Minimum high school diploma
• 12 Early Childhood Education Units
• Clear criminal background check
• Previous teaching experience
• Compliance with all state education and licensing standards, plus maintaining valid credentials for the role

Physical Requirements

This job involves being on your feet a lot. You'll need to walk, stand, sit, squat, stoop, reach, kneel, get up from the floor, twist, listen, read, write, and speak English fluently. You'll also carry and lift things, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, or bend. Clear vision and hearing (with or without correction) are regularly needed.

Pay and Benefits
