About This Role
What we're looking for
A Charge RN for the Belmont Village community in San Diego, CA. You'd be working directly with seniors in assisted living and memory care, overseeing medication administration and guiding the caregivers and medication techs on your shift. This isn't a desk job ; it's active, hands on, and requires someone who can think on their feet while keeping a calm, empathetic presence for residents and families.
Schedule details
This is a full time position with two shift options: 2:30pm to 11:00pm or 10:30pm to 7:00am. The schedule rotates on a 4 days on, 2 days off pattern. Weekend availability is required.
Walk in interviews are held every Tuesday from 12pm to 3pm and every Thursday from 10am to 12pm. No appointment needed.
What you'll do day to day
- Administer medications to your assigned group of residents following physicians orders, and document any adverse reactions or clinical observations right away
- Follow up on physicians orders and coordinate services with outside providers like pharmacies and therapists
- Communicate changes in condition or other important clinical information to physicians and family members
- Oversee the work of Medication Technicians and caregivers to make sure resident care and service plans are being followed
- Make real time decisions on the floor and handle conflict in a constructive, positive way
- Keep resident medical records, clinical documentation, and incident reports up to date
What you need to bring
- An active LVN or LPN license in the state where San Diego, CA is located
- CPR certification, or the willingness and ability to get it within 30 days of hire
- At least one year of medication administration experience ; this is preferred, not required
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Clear communication in both written and spoken English
- Intermediate computer and mobile device skills
- A professional, pleasant, team oriented attitude
- Consistent and reliable attendance ; that's essential for everyone here
- Experience in assisted living and memory care is a must
