About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this job. We're hiring for an entry level In Tank Sealant Mechanic in San Antonio, TX on behalf of a major aerospace client. It's a 12 month contract with a good chance to extend.

What you'd be doing

The work is hands on assembly on aircraft structures and systems. You'll be following detailed technical instructions and drawings in English to get the job done right.

  • Applying sealant to surfaces according to specs.
  • Installing different aircraft components like panels.
  • Working inside fuel tanks; that means sealing, structural tasks, washing, and rework.
  • Using mechanical lifts; ladders, tiger lifts, snorkel lifts.
  • Handling all sorts of chemicals: solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints, and special finishes.
  • You'll be trained and certified to work in confined spaces.
  • The role involves taking bond and ground measurements.
  • You need to be ready for physical work: carrying and lifting up to 35 pounds, kneeling, bending, reaching overhead, twisting, standing for long periods, walking, climbing or balancing, crawling, and crouching.

The schedule isn't fixed. You have to be available for variable shifts; that could be 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.

What you need to bring

A High School Diploma or GED is required. If you've been to vocational school or have an associate degree, that's a definite plus.

  • At least six months of experience using software applications. That could mean internet/email tools like the Microsoft Suite or other specialized programs.
  • A solid six months following detailed work instructions and reading blueprints, drawings, or specs in English.
  • Another six months working in an advanced manufacturing environment; something technical or mechanical where you've used hand tools as well as power and pneumatic tools.
  • A final six months applying chemical products like solvents, sealants coatings primers adhesives paints or special finishes is also required

The logistics

The pay rate is between $26 and $31 per hour. And there's a $5K relocation bonus if you need it.

The contract comes with medical dental and vision benefits through Cigna. There's also bonus potential here because we're a Tier 1 supplier which gives priority access to these roles

You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. under ITAR regulations This typically means being a U.S Citizen lawful permanent resident or protected individual as defined by 8 U S C 1324b(a)(3)
