What You'll Be Doing

This forklift operator role is based in San Antonio, TX. You'll report to the department manager and spend your shift operating powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently. The main job is loading and unloading trucks that carry raw materials or finished goods. You might also supply raw materials to a production line or take finished goods off the line.

• Load and unload raw materials from incoming trucks, then transport them to the right spot. You'll validate quantities using Blind Count Sheets or SAP transactions done through the forklift's computer.
• Use the SAP database through Vehicle Mounted Units (VMUs) installed on the forklifts for all warehouse functions, including truck loading/unloading.
• Supply raw materials to production lines when they need them.
• Do pre trip inspections on your forklift every shift, and follow proper procedures for changing batteries or propane tanks.
• Clean and maintain your work areas throughout the day.
• Follow all health and safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and wear required personal protective equipment ; that means hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts.
• Adhere to food quality and food safety guidelines according to Refresco standards, customer requirements, or governing bodies like SQF.
• You may also operate production machinery as needed.

Basic computer skills are necessary since you'll be working with warehouse management software and logging data. • Three years of experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not mandatory.

Cognitive stuff: You should be comfortable analyzing data and processing parameters to make production run smoothly. Problem solving skills matter too: you'll need to identify issues quickly and fix them. Safety is central here so expect participation in audits and inspections regularly.
