About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Project Manager spot. We're a general contractor that's been around for over a hundred years, based in Northwest Indiana. We handle commercial, industrial, healthcare, and education builds. The team here is solid; estimators, construction managers, support staff; and we're looking to add someone who can run a project from the ground up.

What you'll do

You're running the show on construction projects from start to finish. That means you own the budget, the schedule, and making sure everything gets done right and on time.

  • Oversee projects from conception all the way through completion.
  • Review project plans to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
  • Monitor all onsite and offsite work to ensure it meets building codes and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate the crew and all subcontractors on site.
  • Handle material and equipment selection while keeping track of inventory.
  • Make sure we're meeting all the contractual conditions.
  • Check the work progress daily and prepare reports on job status for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Plan ahead to avoid issues; solve problems when they pop up.
  • Negotiate agreements, draft contracts, and pull permits and licenses.
  • Analyze project risks and manage them.
  • Ensure quality standards are met with proper construction techniques.

The background you'll need

We need someone who's been in the trenches managing construction. You've got to know how a job site runs inside and out.

  • Proven experience in construction management is non negotiable.
  • You need advanced knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
  • A deep understanding of building products, construction details, rules, regulations, and quality standards is essential.
  • You should be familiar with every phase of the construction process.
  • Experience with construction management software is expected.
  • The ability to plan strategically and see the big picture is crucial.
  • You're competent at handling conflict and crisis situations.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills are key for this role.
