Executive Chef

Resort Lifestyle CommunitiesยทSan Antonio, TX

About This Role

The Role

Resort Lifestyle Communities is looking for an Executive Chef to lead the culinary and dining team at our independent senior living community in San Antonio, TX. This is a hands on role where you'll spend real time in the kitchen and the dining room. You won't just manage from an office. You'll step into whatever needs to be done, from prepping ingredients to planning menus, and you'll build genuine relationships with the residents you serve every day.

You'll guide our Signature Freedom Dining program, which is a big part of what makes our community feel like a luxury resort. Think fresh, scratch made meals, flexible dining options, and plates that look as good as they taste. Your leadership makes sure residents get an elevated, worry free dining experience. It's one of the main reasons they choose to call this place home.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations ; making sure every meal is scratch made, properly presented, and served at the right temperature.
  • Work alongside your team on the line, keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with all food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Train, coach, and develop your culinary and dining staff. You'll partner with the Dining Room Supervisor to keep meal service smooth and on time.
  • Handle ordering, receiving, inventory, vendor relationships, and daily invoice entry using our company tools and standards.
  • Get to know residents. Gather their feedback, host monthly Chef chats, and adapt menus to what they actually want to eat.
  • Create and manage weekly labor schedules. Make sure the team stays in uniform and follows safety requirements.

What You Need to Bring

  • At least 21 years old.
  • Proven leadership experience in culinary prep, cooking, and supervising a kitchen team.
  • A high school diploma or GED. A culinary degree or related higher education is a plus.
  • Your primary schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with extra evening, weekend, and holiday support as needed.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills in English, a polished appearance, and a positive, service minded attitude.
  • You handle resident feedback and concerns politely, calmly, and professionally.
  • ServSafe Manager certification (or the ability to get it within 90 days) and any required local food handler permits (within two weeks of hire).

Benefits

  • Access your pay anytime you need it.
  • A $341 benefit stipend each pay period to put toward health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life insurance and short- and long term disability coverage.
  • Options for HSA, FSA, LSA, accident and hospital indemnity, plus legal and identity theft protection.
  • Paid time off.
  • 401(k) with employer match.
